Something else i've learnt!

I cant forget to mention that i've also learnt how to use a scale ruler!!! :)

My new word :)

The new word i learnt was the word Datum! I didnt even realise there was meant to be a starting point... I assumed you just started wherever you wanted! But datum means 'starting point'. So before you begin your surveying you must find a datum point which you can refer to throughout the surveying. Just makes things abit easier.

Oh and suprsingly i've also learnt how to actualy use a scale ruler!! :) which I'm quite proud of.

Urrrm......... Ok welcome to my blog :)

So basicaly these first feww weeks have been mad busy and theres been alot of work involved. Starting off with the mini mapping projects to learning how to survery a building!

For me thats the most exciting thing i've learnt and overall the most enjoyable thing so far because i've never quite worked out the correct procedure to do so. By knowing this its helped me undretsand that this is one of the basic points of this course and without it.... Well i cant realy move further. Its been hell lot of hard work back and fourth trying to get each and every measurement right but its making me more hard working and i like the way its gone so far. And learning all these different ways of drawings is realy complicated at the moment but i've got to admit, that it is pretty fun. And its been very challenging!!

Oh and an interesting thing that i learnt was the story about the Cannel Tunnel. it was to do with the different ways of measuring the English and French used. Apaprently theres a slight kink in the tunnel and its not straight!! All becasue the lack of communication between the two! they didnt know one was using metric and the other was using imperial to measure!!! I found that quite interesting and a little funny because its not realy public news.
